We are rebuilding our site—live at building.seesparkbox.com. Join us, real-time, as the site evolves. It will be ugly at times. Sometimes it will be downright broken. But it will always be transparent and real. You can even check under the hood of the public repo on Github and share your ideas. Crazy, are we? Read why we're doing this.

2012 eduWeb Conference

Boston, MA

Jul 30

The conference intends to bring the two sides of higher ed web together – marketing to IT, admissions to database management – to learn from the other side, to learn to talk each other's language and hopefully bring a better working relationship among the personnel that now create the web.

Ben will be presenting his workshop as part of the pre-conference, July 30th, from 8:30-11:30am. Register today and hang with Ben in the Big Dig.

From Ben's workshop abstract:

"This will be a hands-on workshop where attendees will be guided through the process of creating a responsive site. Attendees will leave with the confidence they need to apply these techniques on their own projects."

He will cover:

  • The business case for responsive web design
  • How to manage the design and development process in mobile first responsive web design
  • The need for content strategy in responsive web design
  • Fluid grids
  • Flexible media
  • Device-independent CSS3 media queries
  • How to test
  • Helpful JavaScript libraries
